The Minnesota Wild are a member of the National Hockey League, and play at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

In 1997, the state of Minnesota, city of St. Paul, was awarded the rights to a NHL expansion franchise which would begin playing in the year 2000. The team was purchased/funded by a group called Minnesota Sports and Entertainment (MSE), which was started by Bob Naegele, Jr. and a group of business investors.

The Minnesota Wild logo is comprised of the Minnesota environment, mainly being some type of wild animal from the Minnesota north woods, the north star, several evergreen trees representing the woods of the state of Minnesota, a red sky for all of the beautiful sunsets, a sun/moon and a stream or river, depicting thousands of lakes and rivers running through the state.

The Minnesota Wild have been fortunate in gaining the talents of players, past or present, like Marian Gaborik, Mikko Koivu, Brent Burns and Nicklas Backstrom. Catch some of these players or the rest of the Minnesota Wild roster on the ice at the Xcel Energy Center. Buy Minnesota Wild tickets today!
