About us

Ticket King St Paul is the sister office to Ticket King Minneapolis. Ticket King has been in business for over 15 years serving tens of thousands of customers. Ticket Broker Cortney manages the St Paul office which is located in a super cool historic building just off the corner of West 7th and Kellogg in downtown Saint Paul.

Cortney, How did you get started in the ticket re-sale business?

A: I kind of just fell into the business, actually. I met Mike, one of the owners, when I was a student at the University of St. Thomas. He needed a personal assistant and I needed a job with flexible hours due to a crazy college schedule. I remember he hired me at Dunn Brothers Coffee on Grand Avenue two days before his twin daughters were born. Over the past few years I've just kind of grown with the company and now run the Ticket King St. Paul office. When I started out at Ticket King, it was supposed to be a part-time gig to get me through college, but there's something about it that's just drawn me in. It's an industry that I never really imagined myself going into, now I can't imagine my life without it.

What's so great about Ticket King?

A: I suppose I'm biased, but this really is a great company. We sell tickets to events around the nation, but we're a locally based company and we love working with local people in the Twin Cities. When you call Ticket King, you get a real, live person to talk to, not a machine. Plus, our customers don't feel like they're being pressured into making a purchase because our employees aren't commission driven and we don't charge hidden service fees like other companies do because we think it's cheesy.

Since we have two local offices, customers can actually come in and meet who they purchased tickets with, and we love meeting our customers! Plus, we have fun with what we do. The Ticket King owners strive to foster a comfortable company environment and make sure everyone really likes their job. We are highly focused on what really makes the business work - the people. I guess that's what really sets Ticket King apart from other companies.

What do you do when you're not selling tickets?

A: I'm a really big Minnesota Wild fan, so I love to go to Wild games whenever I can. I also write a blog about MN Wild hockey and my overall life- www.styleandsports.com.

I also like hanging out around town with my friends - we're big on local St. Paul spots on West 7th and Grand Avenue like the Eagle Street Grille, the Wild Onion, Bonfire and more! I also love being out on the local lakes and going up to the Brainerd Lakes area during the summer. Mostly, I love to shop, I have a bit of a penchant for fashion and my friends tease me about my addiction to shoes.

I also really like to take different classes at the gym, anything from kickboxing to hip hop to rock wall climbing. When I have spare time I also volunteer with local organizations like the Alzheimer's Association and Tix for Tots programs.

Who else works at Ticket King St Paul?

A: Ticket Kristy works in the office part-time updating our websites and helping customers. We also have an intern, Beth, that helps with Ticket King blogging, website work and on-line advertising deals. We all work together and make Ticket King St Paul one of the best places to work!
